Driver Trett was established in 1978, trading as BWS International Construction Consultants, before a re-organisation in 2001 saw the creation of the Driver Group. A public listing, as Driver Group PLC in 2005, was followed by the launch of the first non UK office in the United Arab Emirates in 2006.
The Oman office followed in 2008, alongside the acquisition of CMC (later re-branded as Driver Project Services in 2010), adding customer focused project controls solutions to the Group’s high level commercial, planning, and claims support service offering.
2010 saw the launch of Driver Group Africa (pty) Ltd., with continued growth in the Middle East’s Driver Consult business requiring a new office opening in Qatar to support clients across the region.
In May 2012, Driver Group acquired Trett Consulting and launched the Driver Trett brand providing commercial, contract, dispute resolution, and planning and programming services across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. June 2012 saw the launch of Diales, the Group’s expert witness support service offering, a highly experienced talent pool that has continued to grow and attract world class experts to join the Group across its global office network.
In 2013, new offices opened in Australia, Germany, and Hong Kong alongside a launch of the DIALES expert services across the Asia Pacific region. A joint venture, with MHPM, brought Driver’s expert services and claims and disputes services to the Canadian market in spring 2014. A second joint venture, at the end of the year, saw MHPM and Driver joining forces once again to support Driver’s clients in the Middle East’s growing project management arena.
In Australia, Driver Trett’s third office opened in Sydney; and in the UK, 2014 drew to a close with the acquisition of initiate Consulting Ltd securing further project management support service options for Driver’s growing client base.
In 2015 we saw the launch of a further four global offices covering Cape Town, Durban, Kuwait and Paris.
Driver Trett celebrated 40 years in 2018, a milestone that highlighted how far the business has come and where the business would go.
2020 saw the appointment of Mark Wheeler as Chief Executive Officer in June, a strategic partnership formed with EVRA Consulting in South Africa, and the opening of offices in New York City and Madrid later on in the year.
